Andrew at the wheel today. Nadine and Dinara are sleeping at the Hotel. Yesterday was busy. Finally at three pm we went to the dept of vital records and got the new birth certificate and letter of adoption. With Nadia's (our coordinator) help this took about half an hour. Then on to the baby house for the last time. We went in with gifts from Canada for the Director, the doctors and caregivers, a hockey bag of clothes and blankets that was 32kilo/70lbs, 30m of curtains and an emergency fund of 500$ and left as happy parents with a happy/stunned Dinara dresseed in a fully matching Minnie Mouse outfit. The car ride was scary at first...the only time that she was in a car has been to and from the hospital. However, with mom holding her she calmed quickly. At the Hotel, we got to feed her a snack...yougurt. Much to our surprise, this was not a messy moment, even with me feeding her. After some play and watching the songs of Marry Poppins, dinner time also went smoothly with the new mommy and daddy taking turns feeding Dinara so the other could eat. After dinner, the last playtime, walking ut and down the hotel hall (with help) and then back to watching all of Mary Poppins. Sleep time (9pm) was not as easy as feeding. She wanted so much to keep playing and keep seeing us that she cried at being put down in the crib. After about a dozen times of picking her up for soothing then putting her back in the crib, she finally suckled her thumb to sleep, too bad mommy didn't. Nadine woke herself everytime Dinara moved or made noise. I slept fine. Dinara only cried once in the night, at about 1am but Nadine was there so quickly that I did not really wake. It was after Dinara returned to sleep that Nadine finally slept.
Today has been the same ease as yesterday with feeding and playtime being easy. At naptime both mommy and Daughter slept for almost 2hrs. I got to get paperwork and plane tickets. On the 8th, we are leaving to Hotel in Kyzylorda and moving to an appartment in Almaty for about a week. Nadine is really wanting to cook and breaking up the flight to Moscow is a good idea.
Now, some info on our girl: She is 15 months old, born on Jan 17th 2006. She was born about 2 and 1/2 months premature. She is a bit more then 9.2kilo/20lbs. She lost weight at the hospotal but has been putting it back on well.
I am out of time. We will try and post again tommorow (with more photo's) but don't panic if we miss.

How wonderful that Dinara has bonded with you so well! Although it made me a bit emotional, I figured that she was a Jan. baby. Some angels have been hovering over you for a while now. I think they can start working shifts after this great start to parenthood. Opa and I were so very excited today that we were often chuckling and singing the Hooray poem during all our errands. Thanks Andrew for the great post today. Love and Hugs to the 3 of you, Nana and Opa
Hey Gang!!! Congratulations on becoming a full time family! I can't imagine how exciting this is for the 3 of you and both sets of grandparents! Godspeed on a safe and quick return!
Hello Daddy and Mommy, so you got through the first night with no battle wounds not that we ever thought that you would not survive. You will make great parents there is no doubt. We will have to celebrate the birthdays all together The 3D's, Daddy, Dad,& Dinara's. Our prayers still with you as always, Love Mom & Dad/Gramma & Grampa
Hi to all the blog readers, when I spoke with Andew this am (their evening)he asked that I post a request for comments because your postings are their emotional lifeline to home. He said not to be shy at all, even if you are friends of the family and have not met them yet. If you do not want to be anonymous then before entering your words in the comment box, click on 'other' and type your name or whatever, then enter your comments, then click on publish. Thanks from Andrew and Nadine and Dinara.
Wow - Gotcha Day really happened!! How exciting. We are really enjoying the blog, and Andrew I have to say I remember how you used to drink apple juice. Does Dinara make the same gopher sounds as you did? I have no doubt that you will survive the next couple of weeks until you are home and closer to a whole lot of people who are missing you.
And I also must agree with Sharon - I believe there is a special angel (??) helping you along.
The grass is green here now, trees are almost out, tulips are blooming and everybody is in a much better mood. Take care,
talk soon, lots of love.
Hello perfect family of 3!
I read this entry and I just felt warm tinglies all over. Keep strong, the hardest part has come and gone. This is the time where you start to enjoy things more! Granted, the beginning will be tough, adjusting to having a baby around (and her adjusting to being somewhere other than the baby house) will be endearing, but I'm sure you will do amazingly. From what I've read, you are already doing fabulously, and little Dinara has become comfortable with both of you! I love reading about your adventures, it's so wonderful to hear of your happiness!
Love you all so very much!
Great big hugs,
Aris D =)
Hello new mommy and daddy and of course beautiful Dinara: I have been following your story and am so happy for the outcome!!! Iknow that you will be wonderful parents and Dinara is so blessed to have you as parents.I will keep you in my prayers until you are all home safely. Ilook forward to meeting all of you one day soon. Until then take care and
god bless. Kim ( friend of Grandma )
I'm so happy to hear that your first night together went so well, even if Mommy was a little too nervous to sleep! With Dinara's world consisting of you two having to leave everyday, I'm sure she was probably thinking, "if I close my eyes, they'll disappear!" (and vice versa). But no, all three of you there when eyes were opened again.
I know it sounds a bit over-the-top, but I'm just full of so much joy following you through this process.
For some news from Wash. -- My friend Tricia had her baby, Samantha, on the 2nd. She's a perfect little 8lbs and has a pleasant disposition.
I took Dinara's picture to show her and her sister when I visited her in the hospital. They both agree that your little princess is just amazingly adorable.
Love, hugs, pixie dust and anything else that's wonderful!

Hello Pearsons x 3,
So, first night with the new baby and Nadine didn't sleep well?!! I remember those days. I used to count the seconds in between Domenic's breaths I was so petrified he would stop breathing! Once she is in her own room at home it will be easier. I'm just so happy for you all. Enjoy! The time goes way too quickly.
The Cuggys
Glad things are going well with the adjustment from part time visiting to full time parenting!
I can't wait to see Dinara in person. We are counting the days here in Edmonton. I showed the ladies at my work Dinara's picture and everyone was enamored with her!
Can't wait for more pictures!
Love,
Victoria
