This is us in the baby house director's office. Our first real family photo...we have a couple before but now it is all legal.
Here is our little Dinara after her first shower. She really didn't like the shower at all. Mommy was even in the bath with her (I hope that wasn't too graphic for some of you) and boy did she yell. I think she might like a bathtub better but all we have is a shower stall. She smelled and felt a tonne better after this though. We were told not too clean her on the first day...too much change and she might not adapt too well. Now she smells and looks great. We dressed her and put a blanket and towel on her to keep her warm. The towel on the head is all Daddy's doing...for the pic.
Here is a close up of Dinara playing on the hotel room floor. This was taken with the camcorder instead of my digital camera. The camera isn't working properly anymore. It keeps the lens open (even with the power off) and doesn't focus properly. I think it needs a cleaning at the least. If it is kapoot oh well...I have been using it in the field and on holiday since 2004. Time for a new one I guess...SLR here I come.
Look at the label on the apple juice...it is dada juice. Thought it was fitting for Andrew to have his picture taken with it.
Ending on a silly note. This was taken during our last visit at the baby house. I just thought she looked soooo cute I would include it in this post.
Well good bye for now. I need to get some groceries and order a couple of burgers to go (with no Russian skills). Missing you all and we can't wait to introduce you to our daughter. We were thinking of multiple BBQ's to accomplish this...one in Saskatoon, one in Edmonton and one in Nanoose Bay. What do you think? We don't know when of course but we will try.

Hi there,
Glad to hear you had a good night's sleep! It's amazing how important that becomes. Dinara is so beautiful and it sounds like she has such a lovely disposition. If you are not into scrapbooking I think you may have to take it up in your spare time because you will have tons of gorgeous photos! I'd love to know what the whole charisma and circumstance modifier thing means.....geeks please tell all!
The BBQ's sound like a great idea but I notice you didn't mention an Easterly location! I'm sure you will need a break from planes but I know a few people out our way that will be anxious to meet Dinara! Lucky for us we are spending time out West this summer so hopefully we can hook up with you then.
Take care. Love, Karen
Grampa & Gramma are counting the days also. It is now 7:30 a.m. and Grampa has already copied the pics to photo paper. Glad to hear the sleeping schedule has improved for all of you. I can understand Dinara not liking the shower. She is like her Gramma, we ladies enjoy a relaxing tubbie, not a jump in, splash in the face, quickie clean! Tell Andrew to drink lots of that DaDa juice to keep up his strength. The pics are GREAT! You really capture the moment(s).
BBQ in Edmonton already in the process of being planned as Dinara's Great Uncle Albert and Great Aunt Ruth as well as her many cousins etc. have requested an audience with our Princess for when you all can make it to town (Edmonton). There are also a few from Gramma's work who want to make Dinara's aquaintance. Please keep the Blog entries flowing as you know we all require our daily/or when you can get to it fix. Prayers & Love to your family, TTFN. G & G / M & D
sounds like more than one edmonton bbq could be in order. :D you have a lot of people here that want to see you three. we all miss you.

:)
ps. we have decided d and d is ok for our wee bit, but no wow, as they have strange ideas about what the internet is for. ;)
hehehe
Hi Andrew and Family,
I have tried to keep up to date with your blog and of course thrilled that you have become parents of such a beautiful little girl. Being a grammy myself, I had lots of questions for Nana about the baby. Is she still on a bottle? Does she drink formula or milk? I know it is important for brain development to have whole milk as part of a diet for the first few years. Of course , being a teacher , I'm all about brain development. Did you get any Baby Einstein DVDs at your shower? They are fab for language and vocabulary development. Try the William Tell Overture with Dinara. My grandson thought it was hilarious and could not stop his body from moving. I'm sure you can hardly wait to get home and show off the little one. You should sell tickets. Take care, and enjoy the ride,Love Bonnie
Only 18 for Charisma? Actually, I don't understand the rules well enough to know what an over-the-top high is ... but I would think you should make an exception to have her at "infinity" for that one ;-)
I love the photos, please keep them coming (as much as you can with the technical issues).
I also agree with Karen, you need to start scrapping!! I've decided that I'll be pre-loading your mini-brag-book with some shots from your blog. You'll have to fill it up with better quality prints, of course.
Have a great weekend!!
*hugs* - b
We just love our little Princess. Now I have two little Princesses to love; one Polish and one Kazakh. Well, will she ever get a multi faceted education from all the interesting people in her new world. Reading, music, D and D, rocks and traces, etc. Opa of course will insist on her learning the finer things in life: skiing, sailing and flying. Enough with the joking; we think Dinara will enrich all of our lives. We hardly can wait to get back from our trip so that we finally can meet her. Your blog site will most certainly beeing visited from many friend's computers in Germany and Paris. After that she will have a whole new group of admirers on Celebrity Cruise Line. I will probably pester everybody to see my new princess. So make sure you keep the pictures coming. We are very proud of what you are doing. Our love to all three of you. Nana and Opa.
Dinara is just too cute for words. Every picture gives a new detail to her personality. Can't wait to meet her. Kyle wants to know how much damage does her rank 5 drool skill do? I think she diffently has emote spell love me. Enoguh geek talk can't wait to see you guy's in E-town.
Hey there,
It is so wonderful so see you three together looking like such a neat little family. Dinara is truly adorable. I can only imagine how homesick you must be, and what you have learned together, and about each other, during this extended period. We want you home quickly too.
Off to Blackstrap today - I think it is our job to introduce Dinara to the water activities in her new life. What a lucky little girl she is!
Love to all,
Gail
