She took her first steps ON HER OWN. Yesterday afternoon, the three of us were playing in the hotel room. In the room, there is a coffee table that we have pushed to the far wall away from the couch. Dinara was playing with some blocks at the table when she turned around for attention. As I (daddy) called her, she gave a grin and started off towards me. Normally she falls after the first step and crawls the rest but this time all three steps upright to daddy's arms with us watchin in amazement. This is great progress when you think that when we first played together she would barely crawl, prefering to scooch along.
She also gave Nadine a zerbert on her cheek this morning. It seemed to be a fluke as she could not do it again.
Last night, we brought Dinara down for dinner and she attacked demolished her baby food and cheese so fast we were amazed. She then settled in the stroller until our food came, then once again she had some of our food. Breakfast today was similar...in the room she ate her bowl of rice cereal mixed with yogurt and she wanted more. We gave her another half container of yogurt before she decided to stopp. As a family we went down to the breakfast buffet and Nadine hade to feed her more food...cheese, banana and bread. Nadine thinks that it is a growth spurt...I thank that she is just building muscle faster that she has before.
She has totally charmed the staff at the hotel (with that high charisma stat) They will stop and say hi to her by name and some even stop to play with her feet, making the cute noises reserved for babies. Most of this attention makes Dinara shy but sometime she responds with cute noises and RASBERRIES. (Yes we have already taught her that). Bye for now.

*thpppppt* (raspberry noise)
Wow, you've got a little walker already!! Very cool.
Growth spurt, building muscle faster ... I think you're both right. That, and I bet the food you guys have has more variety than what she's accustomed to. It's probably like walking into one of those all-night buffets on a cruise ship for her :-)
Sounds like a great weekend so far.
*hugs* -b
We just love your stories and specially the titles you give them. Dinara is probably just hungry and getting used to "yum-yum" food. I just finished packing my suit case and Sharon (uuups, I mean Nana) is just about done. We will check in again Monday evening MEZ. Got you? Mittel Europaeische Zeit. Funny how one forgets so many words, but some stay with you forever.
Love to all three of you, Nana and Opa.
I am packed but frazzled and wanting to write but hoplessly messing up finding these darn keys. Do computerbugs change stuff around for fun or for malice? How ever we, like everyone else, are so happy to be hearing your great stories and love the amusing titles. Home is where the heart is; as much as you have given Dinara your heart, now you want to give her your home as soon as possible. Enjoy all these treasures of time and changes in her life! So loving omputers when they allow us to follow so close to real time your start as a family half way around the world.
Lots of Love to a great family, Nana
It sounds like Dinara likes your company at mealtimes maybe you should take what you feed her in the room down with you and feed her some of both, two birds one... Or it could just be all the strange and wonderful new flavors she is experiancing. The growth is a for sure, but the walking is a surprize. She must trust in you a LOT already. Believing you will catcher her if she falls. Watching Dinara take her first steps on her own WOW! Did your heart stop, breathing stop, but just until she reached the safety of your waiting arms? Welcome to Mommy and Daddyhood. Remember that feeling as there will be a lot more of them to come they never end even when they GROW UP. Enjoying my fix, pics are an extra high. Keep both coming please! Counting down the days, trying to be patient, Loving & Missing. Mom & Dad.
