A Hotel Even Nana Would Approve Of

Well hello everyone. Sorry again about the lack of post yesterday. It was a day of in transit. Dinara was an angel for about the first hour of the flight after that she was not having any part of sleeping or cooperating. She was soooo over tired. She just couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep. I felt so sorry for her. She finally nodded off at around 11:30pm Moscow time (1:30 am Almaty time) in the car on our way to our FABULOUS hotel. We decided that we played it cheap for most of the trip so in Moscow we went all out. We are staying at a 5 star resort about 10 km outside of Moscow.

Now many of you might say boy isn't that an expensive thing to do...well my response is we were staying in an apartment that smelt like pee and garbage at times. Also, this hotel ironically iwas the only place that was available for the 3 days we needed. The defense minister for the US (Ms. Rice) is in town and she has booked up 9 hotels completely. I now have no question about why the US is in debt if this is how they always work her foreign visits. Anyway this place is marvelous and has a wireless internet connection! It is a golf and country club resort. It makes us feel like we are home...it is surrounded by trees. Now I mean home in Canada not in Saskatoon. We will take photos tomorrow and post them. Oh on that front...I bought another Nikon Coolpics camera today (for about $200 US). My other one needs some mending and we needed something small. Also, we forgot the camcorder today and we needed photos. We were taken to the embassy and the Visa for Dinara was secured today. Yipee! After that we were taken to Red Square! I have always wanted to see Lenin's tomb (many of you might know that in high school I was a little bit of a communist) however it was under repairs and not open to the public. Just my luck eh? Oh well! I will see it the next time I come. We love Moscow! We feel much better now that we are in a metropolitan place again. The water here is good...the resort filters it themselves...and we have the most amazing breakfast buffet included in our room price. Dinara has been sampling everything. We fed her Brie cheese, scrambled eggs, ham, pear, pinapple, pancakes with maple syrup, smoked salmon and grapefruit (she made a funny face with this treat). She liked them all...well not the grapefruit really. She is such a good eater. She just smiles and pats her belly...something Mommy taught her by accident.

Pictures aren't loading right now...the connection isn't great. I will post them tomorrow. It is getting late here and I'm getting tired. We are going to play it easy tomorrow and just wander around this resort. They have nature trails, a sports complex (complete with a pool) and much more. Talk soon. Miss you all. See some of you in 2 days!!!!

Two days, two days, YIPEEE!!! We are all counting the days. Missing you all soooo much. Want you home NOW! But we know we still have a small wait.
Good to hear all is going well. It sounds like Dinara is a food lover like the rest of us. We will have to try her on shortbread cookies and lemon M. pie. Andrew have you tried her with ice cream or a dill pickle yet? Ya I'm not saying a whole one just a small sample. While there try their garlic sausage and perogies, and cabbage rolls for a meal. If you can.
Kid withdrawal calming down, just a bit mind you, but calming.
Enjoy the new quarters, take in the sights, have a small holiday with your daughter, but be on that plane heading for home on the 18th as planned. Love and Kisses, and still praying until you are safely home. Dad & Mom

Hi Guys!

So exciting that the time has almost come for you to return!
I sure hope you can post some pics of Moscow as I know I will never get there!
Dinara is definitely in the right family if she likes to eat.
We are hoping everything turns out fine on the road home.
Love from Tilbury
